For thousands of years the elderly have been venerated in China and cared for at home by their families. Now, however, China is feeling the pressure of the world's largest elderly population. The One Child Policy means that many will have only one child to care for them and there are valid fears over how the elderly will be cared for in the future.

A series of private professional visits will enable elderly care providers and practitioners to see this dilemma at first hand, by meeting your professional counterparts and discovering the very different working conditions and challenges they have to deal with. Learn about the opportunities that exist in China for western companies, and bring back new ideas and developments that may benefit your practice back home.

Your tour leader throughout China is Zhang Zhong Jiu (Zhang) who has organized and run Master Travel's Chinese study tours since 1993. His enthusiasm, pride in his country and wonderful sense of humour have always endeared him to our travellers over the years. Having grown up during the Cultural Revolution, Zhang has lived through the immense changes and upheavals that China has gone through, and his store of personal anecdotes and observations will give you an insight into Chinese life and culture that is truly unique.
