Hosting an ensemble of traditional communities and urban cities, this country has a strikingly diverse way of life and a range of healthcare establishments. From rural, rainforest clinics, ethnobotanical practitioners and modern hospitals, we will explore the spectrum of medical facilities available, whilst seeing some of South America’s most treasured sights along the way.
Medicine in Peru
Peru, a country brimming with ancient Inca remnants, pulsing jungles and time-honoured traditions, is a melting pot of bygone eras, captivating Latina cultures and modern twists. From the towering citadel of Machu Picchu, the vibrant winding rivers of the Amazon to the sprawling metropolis cities, we will journey through Peru’s timeless places of interest as we discover the alternative healthcare available to those who call Peru home.
Venturing into the Amazon
Age-old secrets about life in the jungle will be revealed during our visits to tribal communities, where we will experience the medicinal teachings of local Shamans who's knowledge of the Amazonian flora has passed through many generations. We will also have the chance to take in the sights and sounds of the striking and exotic creatures that are hidden in the depths of the jungle, with a night time hike for the intrepid explorer, as well as an idyllic catamaran ride that will allow us to float leisurely along beside the wildlife of the rivers.
