    Feedback from previous Songlines trips

"The whole trip was excellent! The opportunities provided by the tour leader to meet local bands and have private performances were outstanding, memorable and very special. So was the group of fellow travellers. The two weeks passed by so fast and I enjoyed every minute. Many thanks to all involved.”

Jane Foulsham on the Songlines trip to Cuba

“This is an incredible tour. We had the privilege of meeting musicians in their own homes and villages – and listening to their music was an experience of a lifetime that I will never forget.”

    Tour leader: Russ Slater

Russell Slater is a journalist and expert in Latin American music. He has written extensively about Colombian music for magazines like Songlines and The Wire, and was the editor of Sounds and Colours Colombia, a book that took a unique and new approach to discussing Colombian music and culture. He is extremely passionate about Colombia's newest generation of musicians, artists that are taking the country's tropical music (i.e. cumbia, salsa, bullerengue) into completely new territory. After successfully leading the tour last year, Russell has helped Songlines to create another truly immersive musical tour of Colombia.
